Speaking of fitting with the Patriots, the Washington Redskins have also traded for former Washington Redskin DT Albert Haynesworth. The Patriots only traded a 2013 5th round pick for Haynesworth. Both sides are winners in this trade. The Patriots are filling the gap that Richard Seymour left with a Haynesworth, and the Redskins no longer have to pay a player who doesn't want to be with them.
This is the most Surprising trade of the day for me. The Bears tight end Greg Olsen is being traded to the Carolina Panthers. The details of the trade has not yet been disclosed. He is joining a team that is heavily improving its tight end corp they already have signed former Superbowl champion Jeremy Shockey. Greg Olsen will be a great improvement to the Panthers.
The Eagles and Cardinals also had a trade today. The Eagles traded quarterback Kevin Kolb for Cardinals corner back Dominique Rodgers-Cromarte and a second round pick. This trade will give Kevin Kolb an opportunity to start. He has the talent of a starter but has backed up Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick before this trade.
Also, last but not least the New Orleans Saints have agreed to trade running back Reggie Bush to the Miami Dolphins. This is a smart move by the Dolphins because both of their running backs, Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown are free agents and most likely won't sign with the dolphins again.
